Our mission

Our mission is to improve decision making in the health care system.   

We develop and teach the know-how to conduct patient oriented research of high quality. With our research projects we generate evidence for better decision making that improves patient outcomes.  We generate and appraise evidence of medical interventions for frequent and important conditions or health problems. We promote the transfer of results from patient oriented research and evidence-based knowledge to physicians, health care institutions and decision makers in the health care system. Our goal is an evidence-based health care system at the local, national and international level.

The Basel Institute for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics ceb is associated with the University of Basel. The institute was created in 2001 as a foundation and is integrated into the University Hospital Basel.
